President's PenMay 5, 2020
As your Congress President, I greet you with tremendous compassion and concern.
After six weeks of being sheltered in place and social distancing, I have a renewed appreciation for the scripture, "Be still and know that I am God" (Psalms 46:10). As your Congress President, my primary concern is the health and safety of every Congress delegate. I have come to recognize the severity and economical impact that COVID-19 has had on our state. After much prayer, I have decided to follow the directions of our national leaders, state convention leaders, and the SC government's protocol for gathering of large venues. I have also sought direction from the "Almighty God" and am announcing the POSTPONEMENT of the 114th Annual Session of the South Carolina Baptist Congress of Christian Education in Greenville, South Carolina, on July 12-17, 2020.
President Greene and the Congress officers have unanimously agreed to conduct the 2020 election process in July, 2021, at the 114th session, which will be held in Greenville, SC, on July 11-16, 2021. I am convinced that "All things work TOGETHER for the good of those who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose."
All updates and future Congress directives will be posted on our website, sccongress.org, and sent via email. If you need clarification, please contact Dr. Toney C. Parks by email or phone. Thank you for your continuous support and prayers.
